Normal West Sinfonia Orchestra

This ensemble builds on students’ foundational skills through more challenging music and greater independence as an ensemble. Students focus on:

• Accurate tuning and intonation

• Two- and three-octave scales

• A wider range of bowing techniques

• Shifting and playing in higher positions

• Developing consistent vibrato

• Improving tone quality and musical expression

• Listening and responding to other sections

Sinfonia Orchestra helps students grow as confident ensemble musicians and prepares them for more advanced repertoire.
