About the Conductor

Kimberley Boehm

Miss Boehm received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with an emphasis in strings. While at University of Illinois, Miss Boehm studied viola with Mr. Rudolf Haken, as well as conducting with both Dr. Elizabeth Peterson and Dr. Louis Bergonzi. Miss Boehm is the recipient of the Division Achievement Award in Music Education, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Music Education, and the Eve Hardwood Music Education Award from the University of Illinois. As an undergraduate student, Miss Boehm was active in the student chapter of the American String Teacher Association; she served as treasurer during the 2015-2016 school year. Upon Graduation, Miss Boehm began her teaching career at Chiddix Junior High School in Normal, IL until 2021 when she joined the staff at Normal West High School. Currently, Miss Boehm is pursuing a Master of Music Education degree from Illinois State University in Normal, IL.
